Please note that a new rule has been added to the Board Rules. The circumstance it addresses doesn't come up too often here but we felt it was best to formally state a policy concerning such situations so they can be resolved more efficiently and with as few hard feelings as possible.
The rule is as follows:
"6) If a moderator or administrator says a specific conversation within a thread must cease because it is off-topic, argumentative, etc. then that is the final word and conversation ends there. Any further posts in the thread are to deal with the topic at hand. There are to be no apologies or explanations in the thread itself since these can be used to continue the argument or get in the last word. If you feel an apology or explanation is necessary please politely PM the appropriate person(s)."
