Can Batman really breathe in space? Who would win in a battle between John Byrne and Erik Larsen? Love your Transformers? Are you just nuts for mint-on-card in general? This is the place to talk about it!
Unfortunately there's not a whole lot of details concerning it. Conflicting reports... promises of more info... all the usual stuff.
Some say it's a continuation, others that the characters look closer to the manga... and thus it may be a redux of the manga version of events starting from the beginning of their journey.
Either way, I'm just psyched to have it back.

From what I've read about the manga, I'd be completely fine with them just doing an anime version of it.
I don't know how down I'd be for a continuation personally, but dammit, I demand more relationship closure! You can't build that kind of sexual tension for 50 episodes and a movie and not act on it! That's just cruel!
now see, i wouldn't mind seeing goofy little things like this added in this series. I am hoping to get more closure out of it too, like most have said, you just can't end it like that. I've had help with easing that tension due to GC Rust's fanfic on his deviant art account, but he just can't seem to update any more....hmmm. But anywho, i really hope this gives us what we want and then some.
Bad Monkey!! Bad Bad Badbad Monkey!!! NO BISCUIT!!!
Lol... and people wonder why doujinshi get made...
The whole point of a series is usually sexual tension... and unless they're planning on never going back to revisit it, they never give you a payoff. Inuyasha works because of that very principal. Much like Urusei Yatsura, even when it does give you a payoff it comes with consequences instead of a "happy ending"... not that it matters because there's more than one romantic relationship being built up, and more suitors lining up to heighten the tension more. As long as you continue to hand out small achievements in the relationship and add more characters, the show can run indefinitely. It's like a sexual tension engine... lol.
The only real way to get closure on shows like this is to let the artistically inclined pervos of Japan do their own version. This is pretty much why Comiket is such a popular event, as people go for the hundreds of doujinshi sellers catering to every fan market that's popular at the moment.
If you want the cliffs note version of it, pick up the anime Genshiken.

Subbed versions are up on all the usual bittorrent sites. Got my copy via Shinsen, and it was pretty spot on.
It's a redo of the series... which isn't so bad since they're doing it completely differently. Al & Edward are already hooked up with the State Alchemists, but they're just getting to know the majority of the cast. Our story picks up with them trying to catch a rogue Ice Alchemist who's got grander designs in mind than it would initially appear.
What's really nice is to see all the characters returning... and the show is both darker, and at the same time more comedic than the original version of the anime. You go from the Ice Alchemist killing people to suddenly making fun of Ed's size, which is much more like the original manga.
