My biggest thing...

* Work on improving my self-image, both in the form of working on my internal dialogue, and developing a habit of regular affirmations designed to eventually start shaping my thought-process in a more positive manner.

Hopefully through this process, by which I tell myself "I can" instead of "I can't" or "I don't know if I can", I can cultivate not only a better self-image, but also more drive and determination in general, and stop some of my emotionally-based decision-making.

This are my biggest issues personally, and if I can improve this, most of my other issues will start to fall into place.

I remain...

Corvus, your resolution was very good to hear. I hope you achieve it.

I really didn't make one, but I've decided to start *living* more. I do way to much of going home, cooking and cleaning. Sometimes I stay up late just to keep things clean. I need to let go and spend more time with my daughter. To hell with the cleaning. It always looks messy anyway.

I've mostly adhered to my affirmations thus far, and I use my blog to help me do that.

Now that February is almost at a close, how is everyone doing on their resolutions? So far I'm doing pretty good on "living" more.

Currently 1 for 3.

Not bad, considering there hasn't been the opportunity for my second yet.

I've got a long way to go.
Unsettling dreams plague the people of Arkham, while something terrible rages in the hills outside of Dunwich. A sickly mist crawls over ancient Kingsport and whispers abound of the pollution of Innsmouth’s bloodlines.

This is Lovecraft Country.

My unwritten resolution of finding a non-whore/total whackjob Girlfriend has panned out.

The chapter of my novel "Worldsend"? Not so much. I'm debating on keeping with the traditional high fantasy motif, or transform it into a Modern Day equivalent world (As very few Fantasy novels dare to move out of the Medieval period of Human development).

My choice of "living" more was a good choice for me to work on this year. I've been having fun and relaxation every weekend. Now if I can just get in 30 minutes a day that would be nice... highly unlikely but nice.

I've been working on getting healthier too.

wii fit just told me I weigh 170 lbs.. maybe I should of put down something like "drop 10-20." Nah, I'd never do it.
(in b4 "shutup, string bean")

but as for #2...

4/25 - The Gaslight Anthem/A Death in the Family / Heartless Bastards --just got the tickets!

4/27 - Franz Ferdinand (probably won't be able to make two shows so close together :( )

5/7 - NewFound Glory / Bayside / Set Your Goals / Verse - (for the lulz)

6/12 - Rancid / Rise Against / Riverboat Gamblers (FUCK YEEEAR.. Rancid in a small-ish venue, indoors, for more than half an hour and Rise Against hasn't disappointed the 2 or 3 other times I've seen them)

7/24 - The Reverend Horton Heat / The Nekromantix (haven't gotten to see the Rev yet, nor the Nekromantix for that matter... yay for rockabilly / psychobilly)

Plus the possibility of mayyyybeee Warped Tour this year (depending on which bands go where this year), resolving to catch blink's "reunion" this year (I'm a dork) and lol, I could be talked into No Doubt (again.. dork)

yea, I think #2's in the bag.

Shadowcat wrote:2009 goals:

- lose the 45lbs I gained back, and go from there.
- keep my A1C below 7 (A1C is a measure of your glucose over 3 months)
- no self-injuring in 2009.
- work on my hoarding with a goal of my apartment being visitor worthy by the end of March
- take all of my medications (psych -and- medical) as scheduled and contact doctor's office for help for meds I can't pay out of pocket for.
- full time job with benefits

Well...

- looks like I've actually gained weight. :(
- don't know what my A1C is, because I haven't been back to my doctor, because I have no health insurance
- so far so good with the no self-injuring. As a matter of fact, I started a new med that has helped with that.
- apartment won't be ready by the end of March. No way.
- taking most of my medications - except for the one I can't afford and my doctor's office has sporadic samples for.
- heh. Yeah, right. I was lucky when I was working temp (which I'm not doing now). Ain't happening anytime soon.

So...looks like I'm 1 for 6. :P
Kitty: Oh my god, you teach ethics?
Emma: Yes, do let's make jokes right now.
Kitty: I'm not joking. I have a very large problem with that concept.
