The e-mail I got last week inspired me to come back around here and kick the tires.

I haven't been here since... 2005? Since then, I got married, I've been to San Diego Comic Con twice and ran for congress. I still sell firearms and firearm accessories and I still read comics. I do a Valiant-related podcast too.

I never got rid of the link to the board, but there hadn't bee much activity that I noticed (like quite a few boards I was once an active member of), but the email got me to come back see what was up.

What have I been up to?

Been unemployed for 2 years now. I've had a bite here or there, and had 2 little webdesign jobs (though 1 site had to go down since the owner was expecting a baby and couldn't keep up with trying to push the site or his work).
I've been applying for every job I find, even ones I'm overqualified for, but haven't even gotten a callback. It's thoroughly depressing, and I'm sure it's because most of these places are running credit checks (which make no sense to me because how does THAT determine how well I can do the job?), but of course my credit is bad, I've been out of work for 2 years!!!

*deep breath*

The wife and I moved from NY, down to Maryland last year, in the hopes that we'd find work. I haven't had any luck, but she luckily found something within six months. We're living with my mother in law, which can be hell at times, especially with her not so subtle harping about me getting a job.

I do have a freelance gig writing action figure reviews (which is cool, but I only get paid so much per week based on how many I write, and how much traffic they get), but I have to buy the stuff I review, so I'm trying to limit it to what I collect, so I don't have to worry about selling it afterward.

Other than that, I've taken my artistic talent and transferred it to photography, notably, action figure photography. I'll start a thread for that in the next few days, but in the meantime, here's a taste.


I'm also looking into attending the Baltimore Comic Con in Artist alley to sell prints of some of my more popular pictures.
